Reformation Sunday!... (Last Sunday)

"Live BIG!" That was our theme this last Sunday. When we turn inward into ourselves and make life only about "me, myself, and I" (individualism), then life becomes small. But living in God is BIG. It's living with purpose, living with hope and joy, living in the company of angels, apostles, prophets, martyrs, and the whole Church on earth and in heaven. It's BIG. You are called by God into a BIG life--into the Life of Jesus Christ! If life seems small, pointless, or hopeless--then you know that the devil has led you down his wrong path of individualism. Turn again to Christ and live in all that He has done for you and given to you.

Listen to the sermon here.

Listen again to the Te Deum here.

All Saints Sunday!  (This Sunday)

If you watch or read the news at all, you've heard the term "identity politics" lately. It's not a good thing. It's splintering us from each other. Yet this is just one more example that shows God did not create us to be alone. We long to "fit in". To have a "group" where we find an identity and purpose and meaning.

This Sunday we'll talk about where we Christians "fit in". God has made us part of the best group the world has ever known. It's a group that crosses all political, national, tribal, and language boundaries. It's the group of ALL SAINTS. Come and hear what blessings are yours as a member of the ALL SAINTS.

Romans 3 - The Righteousness of God

In Sunday morning Bible Study, St. Paul has been laying out the foundation of his argument for the Gospel. The truth is that no one has any excuse before God for his sin. But this Sunday we'll hear God's answer--and it's not try harder.

A member sent this speech to me delivered by Attorney General William Barr at Notre Dame a couple weeks ago. It's a marvelous defense of religious liberty and lays out some of the specific challenges that are endangering religious liberty today. As you have time, consider reading his speech here.
